Leigh
Mulley

Artist's
statement: These works demonstrate
my enthusiasm for extraordinary colour, movement and detail. I am permanently
devoted to the influence and power of colour - Its colossal presence in nature,
its mystifying existence in science and its remarkable authority over our lives.
From a shadowed skin tone to an advertiser's logo, colour can become offensive,
unsuitable, or uncanny; intense, seductive and mesmerising. I like to report and
present colour from within a real existence, where texture and form assist the
description. The objects I employ are of great importance. They are the vehicles
of explanation, there to convince the viewer. It is the foils, the fabrics, and
the flesh that help to satisfy; folding, reflecting, disappearing. These objects
are often desirable, covetable, eerie and intriguing - demanding attention.

Vincent Lloyd

Artist's
statement: ' In these works, I have
been responding to aspects of the landscape around us; whether it be to the architecture
of radio masts, transmitting stations and motorway bridges or to health and safety
signs, or to carrier bags stuck in trees. I am a visual artist and consumer, not
a campaigner. I am interested in how things look. But I would say that growing
up in Peene in Kent and witnessing the transformation of the landscape brought
about by the construction of the channel tunnel has influenced my work' www.vincentlloyd.co.uk vincent@vincentlloyd.co.uk
